FAQ – SAFE SIV Guidance

1. Who can join the SIV?

Pilots of all levels are welcome. Beginners, XC pilots, and acro enthusiasts can all benefit, training at their own pace.

2. Where is the SIV held?

At Babadağ, Ölüdeniz, Turkey, featuring multiple launch points, large maneuvering boxes, and a beach landing zone.

3. How many flights per day?

Up to 4 flights per day. You can choose the number of flights depending on your goals and conditions.

4. What is the price per flight?

Each flight costs €50. Daily costs depend on the number of flights you take.

5. What maneuvers can I practice?

The maneuvers are pilot-selected, including collapses, full stalls, backfly, spins, spirals, wingovers, and other SIV exercises.

6. Do I need prior SIV experience?

No. The Course is suitable for all experience levels. Beginners focus on safety and collapse recovery, while advanced pilots refine complex maneuvers.

7. What is included in the course fee?

Life jackets

Expert guidance and in-flight support
All other costs, including accommodation, meals, transport, and personal gear, are not included.

8. Do I need my own equipment?

Yes. Bring your flight gear, plus warm layers, gloves, and optionally a GoPro, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

9. How is safety ensured?

Flights are conducted with in-flight radio guidance, over water and beach landing zones. Life jackets are provided, and all maneuvers are practiced in controlled altitude boxes.

10. How do I get to Babadağ / Ölüdeniz?

Options:

Private transfer from Dalaman Airport (extra fee)

Public transport: shuttle to Fethiye, then taxi/dolmuş to Ölüdeniz

Car rental: ~1-hour drive from Dalaman Airport

11. Can I customize my training?

Yes. This is a pilot-led program, meaning you select the maneuvers to practice.

12. What if weather conditions are unsuitable?

Flights may be postponed or rescheduled for safety. Ground briefings and alternative exercises are provided in such cases.
